ORCID is a community-based organization, governed by representatives from a broad cross-section of stakeholders, the majority of whom are from non-profit organizations. We strive for broad representation, across sectors and regions. To achieve this goal, in addition to an open nominations process, we have established two programs to reduce financial barriers to participation in governance for individuals elected to the ORCID Board, which are described in this document.
